Clavister announced on 11 March that it has secured a contract to deliver CyberArmour products to BAE Systems Hägglunds for their integration into the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV).
According to the stipulations of the newly established agreement, BAE Systems Hägglunds will implement Clavister CyberArmour, which is Clavister’s advanced military-grade firewall powered by artificial intelligence, on CV90 vehicles intended for service in a Nordic country. This contract, amounting to SEK 68 million, will extend over a three-year timeframe, with the first deliveries anticipated to begin in early 2027.
Additionally, the agreement provides an option for procuring further Clavister CyberArmour products, which, if taken up, would elevate the total contract value to SEK 96 million.
BAE Systems Hägglunds is responsible for the design and production of the CV90, an advanced infantry fighting vehicle that is widely acknowledged as one of the most successful IFVs in Europe. This vehicle has been utilized by numerous European military forces and has achieved several important procurement agreements in recent years.
The most recent iteration of the CV90 features a highly digitalized architecture, incorporating cutting-edge battlefield management systems and interconnected capabilities. As contemporary military operations increasingly depend on digital frameworks, strong cyber protection is vital to ensure the security of both the vehicle and its personnel against advanced cyber threats.
Clavister will provide its CyberArmour RSG-400 and RSW-400 models, which are currently operational within the CV90 platform as a result of prior agreements. These cyber security solutions have been meticulously crafted to fulfill the rigorous demands of contemporary military settings, guaranteeing secure communication, robust system integrity, and defense against advancing cyber threats.
John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister, commented: “We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with BAE Systems Hägglunds through this new contract. As nations continue to expand and upgrade their CV90 fleets, they face an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape. Our highly integrated cyber defence solutions are designed to provide the highest level of security, ensuring the operational resilience of these critical platforms in the most demanding battlefield conditions.”
