Hamas chief killed in Tehran strike

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a missile strike on the Iranian capital of Tehran, Hamas and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed early Wednesday. Both organizations blamed Israel, which has so far not commented on the allegation.

The missile that killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh struck him directly, as stated by senior Hamas official Khalil Al-Hayya. Al-Hayya mentioned that witnesses who were with Haniyeh in Iran confirmed the details.

As a result of the missile strike, the windows, doors, and walls in his room were destroyed, Al-Hayya revealed this information at a press conference in Tehran.

According to the Saudi Al-Arabiya news channel, Haniyeh was killed along with a bodyguard by a missile that targeted him in his bed at around 0200 in the morning.

It has not yet been confirmed if it was indeed a missile that was used in the attack or if a loitering munition or a bomb was utilised.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad secretary-general Ziad Nakhaleh was staying in the same building as Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh at the time of the latter’s assassination, but on a different floor, Israeli Channel 12 reported.

An increasing number of open source officials, reporters, and pro-Iranian axis social media users are claiming to have published images and the geolocation of the residence where Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh was allegedly staying at the time of his reported assassination in Tehran last night. However, it’s important to note that there is no confirmed information on this matter at the moment.
