EuroTrophy has announced that it is working with Finnish defence and technology company Patria on the integration of the Trophy Active Protection System (APS) onto the Patria AMV XP 8×8 armoured vehicle.
In March 2025, the inaugural demonstrator vehicle was presented to representatives from select nations during Patria’s Arctic Events held in Rovaniemi, Lapland.
The Patria AMV XP 8×8 stands as one of the foremost 8×8 Armoured Fighting Vehicles globally, featuring advanced survivability against a range of threats. The integration of the Trophy APS significantly enhances the vehicle’s protection against anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), drones, and other anti-tank threats.
Furthermore, this integration allows the AMV XP to utilize Trophy’s Fire Source Location (FSL) capability, enabling its sensors to identify the source of enemy fire and relay the azimuth and distance of the adversary to the vehicle. This information empowers the crew to effectively return fire using any available weapon system on the vehicle.
Additionally, the system can communicate the enemy’s position via the Battle Management System (BMS) to allied forces capable of responding to the threat. The collaboration between the AMV XP and Trophy offers a robust solution for prospective clients, as both systems are already operational within NATO.
It also introduces new capabilities to address both current and emerging challenges in Arctic operations. EuroTrophy serves as the European centre for the Trophy APS, located in Germany, and is the sole provider of a European-manufactured, combat-tested, NATO-deployed APS.
The company also offers a comprehensive array of services, including vehicle integration support, maintenance, and ongoing support throughout the lifecycle of its APS. EuroTrophy is committed to the European defence sector and dedicated to providing cutting-edge, life-saving technologies.
Trophy Active Protection System
Trophy APS is a hard-kill APS designed specifically for armoured fighting vehicles. It offers advanced functionalities essential for contemporary military engagements. Having reached full maturity and being operational worldwide, this system has been deployed by NATO member states and has contributed to saving lives since its introduction in 2011. Furthermore, Trophy APS is compatible with any armoured vehicle.
Trophy APS is designed to addresses the growing complexity of anti-tank threats, which may involve simultaneous and multi-directional attacks from diverse ranges. It swiftly identifies, categorizes, engages, and neutralizes all recognized Chemical Energy (CE) and hollow-charge threats, including anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), anti-tank rockets, high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), and recoilless rifles.
