Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall AG, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indra to establish a strategic partnership focused on armoured vehicle projects for the Spanish Armed Forces.
This further strengthens the partnership between Indra and Rheinmetall in various sectors, including the recently announced collaboration on the Leopard 2E Combat System for the Spanish Army.
Rheinmetall stands as one of the foremost global providers of both armoured tracked and wheeled vehicles. Furthermore, Rheinmetall holds substantial technological contributions to the Leopard 2A4 tank. The company also possesses extensive expertise and experience in the design, manufacturing, and support of armoured vehicles, and through REM S.A.U., Rheinmetall has established a significant and influential presence in Spain.
Indra is a Spanish company specializing in defence systems, recognized for designing thermal cameras and manufacturing the Leopard 2E combat system in Spain under a license from Rheinmetall Electronics. Additionally, it supplies the Lince BMS, which is currently operational in the Leopard 2 in Spain.
Indra is also responsible for the design of the MAESTRE Mission System, which has been contracted for the Spanish Army’s VCR 8×8, and serves as the primary design authority for the Spanish BMS. With extensive experience in Leopard 2 electronics systems, Indra offers simulation solutions for the Leopard 2E and other military vehicles.
